Fire Risk Assessment

Fire Risk Assessment

Whilst all design solutions are specified in accordance with BS5839 standard, of equal importance prior to this being carried out is an up to date and suitable Fire Risk Assessment.

But why is this so important?

It is the responsibility of the owner, landlord or occupier of a business or non-domestic premises to ensure that a Fire Risk Assessment is carried out every year. The Fire Safety Order requires that ‘the responsible person’ should ensure that whoever carries out the Fire Risk Assessment has relevant ‘ knowledge , experience or training’.

ARC Fire Safety & Security will ensure that any design of proposed fire alarm solution encompasses the recommendations and requirements listed in the Fire Risk Assessment and will very often work with and liaise with the risk assessor to confirm that the client has addressed all required items concerning the fire alarm.

To avoid any conflict of interest, the company have made the business decision not to carry out Fire Risk Assessments. ARC Fire Safety & Security have established contacts with associated independent FRA companies. We are always happy to assist with advice and will provide contact details of risk assessors with whom we have worked with should you need any further assistance.

If you would like us to put you in touch with trusted 3rd party accredited independent fire risk assessors, or to discuss further in the first instance, please contact either Andy Burridge or John Pearman at our offices.
