Arc Fire Safety & Security Ltd is making fire safety better and easier by using a new technology called Nimbus in their work. Nimbus is a modern digital tool that helps check and maintain fire alarm systems more effectively and accurately than ever before. This means they can make sure fire alarms are working perfectly, which is crucial for safety.

Nimbus offers several big benefits:

  • Faster Service: It makes checking and fixing fire alarms quicker, reducing the time systems are down.

  • Accurate Checks: It allows for detailed and precise testing, making sure every part of the fire alarm system is in top shape.

  • Constant Monitoring: Nimbus watches over the fire alarms all the time, spotting any problems right away.

  • Smart Insights: By analysing data, Nimbus helps improve how fire alarms are looked after, making maintenance smarter and more proactive.

Nick Parker, who manages these services, is extremely excited about Nimbus: “Incorporating Nimbus into our daily servicing procedures is a game-changer for us. It not only enhances the accuracy of our testing but also allows us to provide our clients with the highest level of reporting and compliance”.

"We are committed to staying at the forefront of technology in the fire safety industry, and Nimbus aligns perfectly with that vision. Nimbus integrates seamlessly with Uptick, our new maintenance management system. This collaboration enhances the overall operational efficiency, ensuring a smooth flow of information between systems. The synergy between these platforms optimises our fire alarm servicing process, providing a comprehensive and unified solution for our clients”.

Arc Fire Safety is dedicated to using the latest technologies like Nimbus to make sure they're doing the best job in keeping people and properties safe. They're happy to show how Nimbus works and how it's making a big difference in fire safety.

At Solent University, Adam Waddington talks about how Nimbus has made a big impact. With a large campus, managing fire safety was a challenge. Nimbus has improved how it handles fire alarms, evacuations, and maintenance. Now, information about fire safety can be sent straight to staff's phones, making responses quicker and more coordinated. It's also improved how they keep records, letting staff see updates in real time and know what needs their attention.

Nimbus also makes it easier to keep track of fire alarm tests and maintenance, ensuring everything is done on time and any issues are fixed quickly. Thanks to Arc Fire Safety's help in setting up Nimbus, Solent University can use it to its full potential, enhancing safety and efficiency.

Statement from Adam Waddington
(Helpdesk & FM Systems Manager at Solent University)

Nimbus has been a great addition to our already comprehensive fire alarm system at Solent University. With a large site of over 50,000 square metres, it can be a challenge to effectively manage evacuations, fire alarm tests and servicing which Nimbus seamlessly unifies. What relied previously on a monitoring notification or presence in our Estates & Facilities office to then relay the information to the team can now be broadcast immediately out to the necessary colleagues no matter where they are on site to ensure a swift and efficient response with all the required information being present to hand on their phones.

Not only has our site wide communication and notification improved due to Nimbus, but also record keeping. Through the extensive levels of access only the event types we wish certain colleagues to be notified of receiving them, this allows, for example, all disablements and enablements to be tracked and records kept against each action allowing all members of the same level of access to see this happening in real time along with any comments made, this ensures after an event occurs and is acknowledged other colleagues know this no longer needs action.

Servicing and Weekly testing is also easy to review on the web-based application to ensure all devices are being tested and serviced within the given timeframes and a record of any defects is kept allowing remedial works to be identified and rectified efficiently whilst maintaining a central paper trail. As always, ARC Fire Safety provided a seamless installation and training to ensure we were set up on Nimbus and utilising it to its full potential.
