Case Study - Radio Fire Design - Henley Management College
Remit
Henley Management College is a large complex comprising of an extended old Manor House, many offices and accommodation outbuildings. The existing security supplier was tasked with upgrading and consolidating a mixture of a very old Radio System and many Hard Wired Areas.
Action
ARC Fire Safety spent four days conducting an in depth
radio signal strength survey to all areas of the complex. A new updated
Radio Network was designed to cover the entire campus, and then a phased
change-out of all old wired equipment with new Radio Devices was undertaken.
This was completed in a four-week period over Christmas shutdown,
minimising the disruption to the college.
Complicated cause and effects were programmed to allow an activation in a building to operate that building sounders only, and putting the rest of the system into a timed delay.
Result
The system was completed and commissioning within the allocated time window. The new sounder area configuration reduces the disruption to the college in the event of an activation.
An ongoing program of planned maintenance ensures the system is kept fully operational.
