Case Study - Radio Fire Alarm - Ladies College, Guernsey

Remit

Ladies College in Guernsey had to upgrade their existing fire system throughout the school buildings, which included a large period building, a smaller school and a number of remote Portakabin type blocks. The client had a limited time frame to complete the project, and to reduce the impact on the school, this had to be completed within the summer holiday period.

Action

ARC Fire Safety worked with EMS to design a completely wire free system in accordance with the fire authorities requirements. The system was completely installed within a three week period during the holidays. All remote blocks were covered without the need to use expensive trenching or unsightly overhead wires. The old system was also removed as the new system went in.

Result

The client was delighted that the system was installed so quickly and with minimal disruption to the building decor. Upon return from their holidays, the fire alarm had been completely upgraded in all areas, with no downtime interrupting the lesson schedule.
