Case Study - Access Control - Large School
Remit
During a fire alarm project at a large school, the client wanted to use an old gate in a palisade fence as a pedestrian entrance. The gate had been unused for some years and the hinges had dropped so it could not close properly against the frame. If the gate could not be used they were faced with paying for a new set of gates to be installed.
Action
ARC Fire Safety had the gate hinges re welded and installed bearings so the gate swung freely. An intercom system was installed to the gate and a CCTV camera positioned so the main office could see and speak to visitors and remotely release the gate to let authorised persons onto site. An automatic closer was also fitted to the gate to ensure it did not remain open. Finally, a proximity card access system was used to ensure staff could enter site freely.
Result
The client was delighted that the old gate could be used saving the
cost of installing a brand new set of gates.
The security systems installed perfectly complimented the client’s
on site security procedures.
